Annika is enjoying her time in her senior year. While she looks forward to graduation with excitement, she also wants to cherish her time with her friends for the remainder of the year; the excitement of moving on is met with bittersweet feelings about leaving. Annika will be attending Northwestern in the fall, which was her first choice of school.
One thing Annika is also looking forward to this year is the dance concert, Lift. She is a leading role this year, something she has looked forward to since she started dancing for ESJ in sixth grade. Senior night and having a featured role will be super fun for her. She said that she used to always “look up to the seniors”, and now that she is one, “it is a great feeling.” Lift, according to Annika, consists of a lot more variety than previous years. The theme could be considered “creativity”. There will be more hip-hop numbers, and even tap! The dancers put in a lot of hard work into making this dance concert the best it can be. Annika says that it can be difficult to balance her time, especially when they have guest choreographers. “The guest choreographers will come everyday for a week. While that can be stressful for time management, dancing is a pretty nice break from everything”, says Annika.
Be sure to look for Annika in Lift, which will be February 24th at 7 pm and 25th at 2 pm! #humansofesj #esj #episcopalschoolofjacksonville
