Discover eimearvarianbarry's Instagram The thing is, I don't mind paying more if the whole experience ticks the boxes. If the food, service, interior, cleanliness etc are all What does piss me off is when restaurants in £££ areas (like @heathrow_airport #terminal2 ) charge £8.49 for Nutella on Toast and you're given the service of a regular caf. (Don't get me wrong, love a regular caf) but if you're paying more, shouldn't you get more? I didn't get the Nutella on Toast. I got the eggs on toast which was a tiny portion. I was intrigued to find out why it was so expensive. I asked the lovely waiter and he said it was probably because the brioche that was in the dish took longer to make, had more ingredients and it was freshly made in the kitchen. I think understanding the amount of work that goes into something we just presume is easy makes a difference- BUT I would love to know what your expectations are when you pay more in a restaurant and what you do if they're not met? Or do you care? I know that if you don't have the money, nobody is forcing you to go in, but what if you ARE prepared to pay more and then feel really disappointed? Is this whole post pointless and should I just get over it? It's about value for money you know? What justifies it. It's when I go to amazing places like @bernerstavern and feel unbelievably satisfied with the whole thing when I leave, it's like who the fk do they think they are when I go to places like this. I'm barred from Heathrow now aren't I (edited: FYI: I've worked in a copious amount of restaurants in New York and Australia and my grandmother/family owned a restaurant for years) 1610312704147646782_327103529
