Discover kayla_itsines's Instagram I was JUST saying this today. A friend of mine is 50 years old and she told me "I've never had a pedicure in my life... I've never gone on a holiday, I've done nothing". I asked why and she said she always does things for others and forgets about herself. Anyway my heart broke so I took her for her first pedicure ever haha. I spend ALL day every day doing things for other people, but at the same time I still make time to look after myself and my body. Self love and caring for yourself is NOT selfish at all. Take some time out of your day for you, and put yourself first!

Discover kayla_itsines's Instagram Answering community questions "DO YOU GET BLOATED". I used to get bloated a lot actually, especially during winter! I realised that I wasn't drinking enough water!! So ladies here is a quick tip, if you suffer from bloating try having things like warm peppermint teas, LOTS OF WATER (add mint leaves) and things like greens juice with celery! It is often very hard to notice that you aren't drinking enough water, but if you make it daily practice to get in a certain amount it can really help how you feel on a day to day basis.

To be completely honest I don't have a transformatino story or photo but instead I have posted above a progress photo showing change in my own body over the last few months. I guess I’ll give you the background to this. As some of you know, at the start of this year I lost one of my dogs. Now to some of you this may not seem like a big thing, but I was honestly so upset I didn’t really know how to deal with this. For a short time I stopped exercising regularly and just kept up my walking and a session where possible. I still ate well but I had minimal motivation to do anything else because I was too sad about what had just happened. I released #bbgstronger in May, and one day I was sitting at home one day and thought looking back at the year so far, I’m not going to do this to myself. So I started my new #bbgstronger program to prove to myself that I could keep going. I did 12 weeks and missed almost none of my workouts. I got stronger in every way possible and I know little TJ would be proud of me. So here’s some of my own personal progress and a bit of my own story this year. ❤️ There’s nothing wrong with how i looked before, but mentally I was in a bad place as a result of some sadness in my life. I’m stronger on the inside which made me stronger on the outside. Oh! and i weigh 2 kgs more now by the way. Girls, this is a good reminder that we are all human, we all have ups and downs. But as you all know it is how we get up once we are down that truly shows our character. To answer that question right now, I feel like I WOULD WALK. Ladies, I cannot say this enough, walking is absolutely fantastic for you in so many ways, and its so easy! Its low impact, you can still sweat and its something you can do with friends, pets or just to clear your mind. If you are walking and want to try and set the pace on a treadmill, I personally walk at 5.0 - 6.4. kmph (3.1-4mph) and usually flat with no incline!

Thankyou for this question, I stay motivated by being disciplined, teaching myself to train and eat well. I have trained for so many years! To get started, try and grab a friend who will motivate you and stick to a session with you. Then, find a training style that YOU LOVE. Then organise your week every Sunday by booking in time for yourself and your friend to train. Keep this up by setting SMALL goals - for example "lets try and workout twice a week for 2 months straight". Keep setting small goals with your friends, smash them and watch your motivation turn into habits for life! Progress is motivating, and not all progress is physical.
