I am not a mother. But this truth breaks my heart. Please consider this next time you order pizza or buy an ice cream or add cream to your coffee. It wreaks havoc on the human body and it's awful for the animals that were exploited for it. Let's be the generation that stops indoctrinating our children with false information and habits that are harmful to them, animals and our environment. We simply know better now. There are SO many delicious and healthy alternatives and endless information available at your fingertips. Let's break the cycle of cruelty and ignorance. I can say confidently that the only mammal milk I would ever feed to my future child would be me mine:
"Even on the most ‘humane’ dairy farms, newborn calves are stolen from their mothers and raised in lonely hutches, never knowing the maternal warmth and nurturing they instinctively seek. Cows used for dairy are generally forcibly impregnated once a year to keep them lactating at optimal yields, and then their calves are taken away at birth in order to maximize the amount of milk that can be sold to humans instead. Male calves are auctioned off to be slaughtered for veal or beef, and female calves typically spend their first 2 to 3 months of life isolated in lonely hutches, or, occasionally, in group pens. Either way, they endure a mournful, motherless existence.
Mothers' milk is baby food for baby animals; that is why we are weaned. At its core, no matter what type of farm, dairy farming is based on the exploitation of female reproduction, and the invasion and destruction of mothering relationships to facilitate the needless theft of maternal lactations. Please reject this cruel, unnecessary industry and live vegan.
