These two photos encapsulate my journey so far in 2017 with Kayla Itsines' Bikini Body Guide. The photo on the left is from January 1st: bloated, hungover, miserable with my body. We were in home in the United States and I couldn't enjoy myself fully because I was too worried that people were looking at me thinking, "Wow, she's sure stacked on the pounds." In truth, I'd heard my friends speak like that about another friend of mine - so I know it would've been said about me. It was an awful, awful feeling not being able to enjoy my vacation because I was worried about what everyone else thought of me. 
So I started the Kayla Movement with everyone on January 9th. My first two weeks I struggled with routine, but found my groove and was able to finish 7 weeks before I had to undergo laparoscopic surgery on my abdomen. I was out of commission for approximately 6 weeks. I took an extra week off because, you know, holiday, and restarted 3 weeks ago. I am absolutely over the moon with my progress!! I never thought I'd be able to be comfortable in my own skin, and the best part is that my journey isn't over. It will never be over. My consistency is paying off, and I am so proud of myself! If you are feeling this way, take a quick look at what you are currently eating, if you are having enough water and if you are lacking in vitamins or not. A simple change to diet and hydration can make a world of difference. Herbal tea is also a great option! I grew up with my mum being SO helpful towards EVERYONE, I literally thought it was normal to just help everyone with everything. I don't think I'll ever grow out of this. I honestly mean it when I say that I want everyone to have the best life possible. The only way I can do that for you is through family and love. That's why we have such an amazing #bbg community!! BUT turns out 110 weeks later even through everything is a bit more firm and shaped... I STILL HAVE THEM.. why?!?!?!? O yeah, BECAUSE IM A LIVING HUMAN BEING!!!!!! Maybe they are a little less noticeable or not as prominent.... but they are there and there's nothing I can do other then realize that everyone has them! I don't workout to get rid of them anymore, he'll if I could grow a bigger 🍑 but it costed me a few extra dimples... then bring it on! There's never anything to be ashamed of that you have, if you have it then you are just as natural as anyone else! Don't spend you life worrying about the things that we can't change instead look at them a different way! Adelaide is absolutely freezing at the moment, so it's SOOOO good that you can fly a few hours and be in the most perfect hot weather ☀️☀️ I come here to relax, sleep in and eat good food!! It's not a quick fix, one simple trick, a supplement, or a fad. It doesn't matter where you're starting from or how many times you've messed up or given up. What matters, what truly brings change, is determination, consistency, and absolute drive.

My fitness journey started when I snapped that photo on the left. I was 6 weeks postpartum and had never been more uncomfortable in my own skin. My self-talk was negative and critical. While I was mostly convinced pregnancy had ruined my body and I would never feel anything but frumpy ever again...well I'd be damned if I wasn't going to try!

It's taken a lot to find what works for MY body and MY life. I'd love to say that I found something that helped me melt the weight off and tone up in no time flat but the truth is...it's taken me over 2.5 years of just plain working my butt off to get here. I can't remember the last time I trained less than 5 days/week. There have been so many phases to this journey, at least 6 different nutrition approaches! 2 years of just doing @kaylaitsines bbg workouts + HIIT/LISS cardio at home, moving things to the gym, replacing all cardio with lifting while keeping bbg in the mix along with yoga. .
While things have changed over time, my dedication hasn't. I've been frustrated, I've expected change to come faster, I've hit plateaus, I've even regressed at times. But...it's that determination and grit, that gets you results. You have to trust your journey, you have to know that you are working hard enough, and you have to be willing to stick it out even when you're not seeing any progress.
